Its activities include providing informal classes before mainstreaming them in schools. These subjects include Kannada, English, Mathematics, Science, Environmental Science and Social Studies. It also sensitizes them about their rights and organizations classes in vocational skills and life skills. Vidyanikethan also organizes regular heatlh check-ups by linking them with health camps organized by its Rural Poor Development Programme. While Vidyanikethan has contacted the families of many girl child labourers and re-united the latter with their families, there are several girls whose families and wards remain untraced. Although the Project is not being funded at present, Vidyanikethan has approval from the Government to retain the premises for managing the hostel.

As many of the girls were staying in the hostel when the funding stopped, Vidyanikethan continued to support the programme on its own and continues to provide for the food, clothing, education and training fees of the rescued girl child labouers. At present, there are about 15 girls rescued child labourers staying the hostel. Donations are invited to support the programme.
